Transforming
Collaboration

Workspace dynamics has undergone a seismic shift, with more flexible work logistics becoming the dominant trend. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that in 2023, 35% of employed people did some or all of their work from home.¹ At the same time, the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) is also spreading rapidly.

94%
OF Business LEADERS USE AI

According to a recent survey by Reworked and Zoom, 94% of leaders use AI in their organizations, and 84% say that integrating AI has positively impacted productivity.²

Fueling Creativity Through Generative AI

As the trend toward flexible work becomes more widespread, today’s workforce needs tools that are AI native. With Intel® Core™ Ultra processors and Zoom AI Companion, a generative AI assistant, Zoom and Intel are ushering in a new era of collaboration, with enhanced AI workloads to allow users to better communicate, connect and create, independent of geography.

Since 2011, Zoom has been pioneering flexible work. More than a decade later, in 2023, Zoom continued to make communication and collaboration frictionless with the addition of AI Companion to its video collaboration platform.

With nearly 57% of Fortune 500 companies using the features, Zoom AI Companion offers a wide range of capabilities to help people work smarter, not harder.

From generating meeting summaries and action items to composing messages and drafting emails, Zoom AI Companion frees users from mundane tasks so that they can experience more meaningful engagement. Its ability to provide real-time translation enables global teams to overcome language barriers and collaborate faster and more efficiently.

In addition, AI Companion can help users generate ideas and organize concepts into categories on a digital whiteboard, leveling up brainstorming sessions.

Zoom’s AI evolution continues with the launch of Zoom Docs. Zoom Docs is different from the one-dimensional word processing tools we are used to — it is a dynamic collaboration canvas with AI Companion at its core that’s transforming modern collaboration.

It enables users to compose, summarize, and translate content in a Zoom Doc, transform meeting conversations into actionable docs, wikis, and projects, use custom or preset commands or queries with AI Companion to further create and revise content, and translate content into different languages for multilingual teams.

The Era of AI PC: Unlocking a New Eraof Collaboration

With the introduction of the AI PC powered by Intel, Zoom can bring its collaboration platform with AI Companion out of the cloud and onto users’ PCs, empowering organizations to move faster, connect seamlessly, and collaborate more effectively.

Intel® Core™ Ultra processors handle AI workloads much more efficiently thanks to three compute engines working in concert— the CPU, GPU, and NPU—to help with things like video and audio processing for Zoom meetings.

Around 40% of Zoom meeting participants use virtual backgrounds, which rely heavily on AI and deep learning inference. Zoom’s AI Companion takes this further by allowing users to create unique AI-generated virtual backgrounds.

The Intel® Core™ Ultra processor allows Zoom to provide better virtual backgrounds through high-quality noise suppression, image optimization, and enhanced virtual background features, while also reducing power consumption. On an Intel AI PC, the cropping is crisp, the image is sharper, and the lighting is automatically enhanced. Odd cropping and sometimes choppy motions will become a thing of the past.

Running AI apps locally on the PC rather than in the cloud allows Zoom’s collaboration platform with AI Companion to run more efficiently and gives customers even greater security and privacy by minimizing exposure to potential data breaches. With more processing done locally, users also experience improved response time and reduced power consumption.

Intel's adoption of NPU across their roadmap and full product lineup means that Zoom customers using Intel products will benefit from improved power efficiency for AI workloads.
