The SEC requires all publicly traded companies, foreign and domestic, to disclose financial condition, operating results, management compensation, and other areas of their business on a regular basis. This information can be used by investors to verify and understand the financial position of the company. Many, but not all SEC filings are available in the SEC’s EDGAR database.
