Define my career in three words: Hard, innovative and blessed. Definitely blessed.
I had two people that very much inspired me: Doctor Maya Angelou and Warren Buffett. And I think if you look at my career or how I look at things, I almost hold both of them up at the same time and blend them. And that really influences how I do the things I do.
If my personal brand had a stock ticker, that’s actually easy, It would be GSTQ, which stands for God Save the Queen, and that was actually a mantra I would write when I was 14 and 15 years old. I would just write “GSTQ, GSTQ,” and it's the name of my fashion company.
It's everything that has to do with the Oura Ring, my Polar Fitness, what I've eaten and the weather app. I'm obsessed with weather.
I’m questioning my ability to move from past experiences and really understand the present as far as who people are today that I'm working with. I'm questioning how long and how much I'm holding on to a bias that maybe there was an interaction or something they didn't do well, or, professional execution that didn't happen the right way a month ago. And really being able to grasp that today, it could be completely gone.
I don't want to put so much pressure on individuals or the past and behavior. I want to make sure I'm empowered that when I interact with them, I can change the present and the future.
One characteristic I think sets successful entrepreneurs apart today I would say empathy. I think the human connection in everything we do is absolutely vital, not only within the organization, but to the consumer. And having a level of empathy becomes a key to unlocking all of the potential.
