Make-A-Wish Rings the Nasdaq Stock Market Opening Bell

Published

Make-A-Wish®, the nonprofit that creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, visits the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square. Make-A-Wish creates game-changing experiences that bring hope, strength, joy and a sense of normalcy back into a family's life. Make-A-Wish is the world’s largest wish-granting organization. Every 20 minutes, a child is diagnosed with a critical illness and 40 children are referred to Make-A-Wish daily. In the U.S. and its territories, a wish is granted every 34 minutes. As an organization that doesn't receive annual government funding and charge their families no fees, Make-A-Wish relies 100% on generous individual and corporate supporters that help grant wishes daily. Since the 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 550,000 wishes in nearly 50 countries worldwide. In honor of the occasion, Tom Weatherall, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish New Jersey, will ring the Opening Bell.
