10:34As we all gather for climate week,
10:37it's an honor to be here at NASDAQ among such extraordinary entrepreneurs and innovators.

10:58ideas allows solutions to emerge for problems that one seemed unsolvable.

11:09The deployment and development of new energy sources is
11:14central to this era of rapid transformation in the global economy.
11:18That's why we've invested in visionaries like Bob Mumgard,
11:22who's here today from Commonwealth Fusion systems,
11:25who is at the forefront of fusion and how we re imagine the power of our world.
11:31It's why we seek out the leadership of people like my friend Tom Steyer,
11:36the CEO of Galvanize who shrewdly invest in capital in endeavors that promote more just,
11:43sustainable, and livable planet.
11:46The businesses that will thrive in this century are the ones that seize
11:51this amazing generational opportunity to build and shape a healthier Earth.
11:57It's an honor to be here altogether to ring the opening bell.
12:02Let me introduce my friend Tom Steyer. To join us.
12:07All right, Thanks, Lauren.
12:14I always say that the best athletes are the people who make their teammates better,
12:19and if there's one person in the world who does that, it's Loreen Powell.
12:21Thank you for what you do. Thank you.
12:25Investors across the country see a huge opportunity in the energy transition,
12:30but New York is the financial capital of the world,
12:34and as such, it has a key role to play.
12:36Whereas Boston and Silicon Valley remains centers of technological innovation.
12:41New York is a critical force in the new clean energy economy.
12:45It's time for us all to get on the same page.
12:48The climate transition is past an inflection point.
12:52Clean is cheaper than dirty in basic energy markets,
12:56and the differential is only going to grow.
12:59Innovation, technology, and cost declines are inexorable.
13:05That means the incremental electricity change is renewable.
13:11Last year, over 85% of new electricity worldwide was renewable.
13:18Capitalism is working. And let's be clear.
13:21Investors want in. This isn't about good intentions.
13:25It's about profits.
13:27We're talking about trillions of dollars of investment per year,
13:31the transition isn't coming. It's here.
13:35At my firm galvanized climate solutions.
13:38We see the energy transition as a dominant industrial trend.
13:42On tied up with AI and the development of emerging markets.
13:46Climate change is a huge challenge.
13:48But it's also an even bigger opportunity.
13:52Solar, wind, EVs, heat pumps,
13:54they're all growing faster than people expected,
13:57and batteries are exploding.
14:00This is what capitalism does.
14:02It meets the needs of society,
14:05and it changes the world for the better.
14:07That's what we're here for today. Thank you, Lauren.
14:09Thanks, Tom.
