Behind the Bell: Mattel
In this episode of Behind the Bell, Mattel Chairman and CEO Ynon Kreiz recently visited MarketSite in celebration of the premiere of Barbie The Movie to discuss what it means for Mattel's future, the Barbie franchise, and people all over the world.
Transcript:
Barbie is about inspiring the limitless potential in every girl. And this purpose has never been more important.
This movie is very much a showcase for the cultural resonance of our brands, for our ability to attract, work and collaborate with top talent and the strength of our franchise management organization and being able to amplify the movie and turn it into a cultural event.
It's also about the creative vision, the incredible vision of Greta Gerwig, an amazing cast led by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, the collaboration and commitment from Warner Brothers as a major studio behind this movie, and of course, the Mattel organization that stepped up and supported this project from the beginning and turned it into a cultural moment.
Mattel owns one of the strongest portfolios of children and family entertainment franchises in the world, and we're very excited to continue our journey both on the toy side of the business, which we expect will continue to grow over time, and of course, the opportunity to capture full value from our intellectual property and continue to expand our entertainment offering.
I would like to thank Nasdaq for hosting us today. It's exciting to be here on the floor and share this special day with people all over the world.
