Better Unit Investment Trust (UIT) Research Drives Better Decisions.

NFN provides access to the UIT Research Report Database, an analytics and data platform that offers customized unit investment trust (UIT) performance and risk metrics, enabling comparative analysis of the UIT market.

Through this offering, subscribers can enjoy instant access to indispensable data and valuable strategy research on a broad range of UITs, enabling users to perform comparative analysis of the UIT market necessary to make better investment decisions.

A lack of research and increased regulation of UITs has made it challenging for advisors to perform proper due diligence on behalf of a client’s best interest without a research service. That is why NFN has the first dedicated database of UIT research reports that gives finance professionals access to the information they need to make investment recommendations with confidence. UIT Monthly Scorecard

The monthly UIT Scorecard provides quick access to the top performing UIT strategies covered by NFN Analytics as of the end of each month. The UIT Scorecard is broken down by our asset class classifications, and further broken down by Investment Strategy Goal.

The UIT Scorecard ranks the top 10 (if available) of each category by 3, 5, and 10-year performance utilizing our “composite” performance calculation. The UIT Scorecard allows for extremely quick performance comparisons of UIT strategies.

    Frequently Asked Questions

A Unit Investment Trust (UIT) is an investment company that offers a fixed portfolio, generally of stocks and bonds, as redeemable units to investors for a specific period of time. It is designed to provide capital appreciation and/or dividend income.

UITS are similar to both open-ended and closed-end mutual funds in that they all consist of collective investments in which many investors combine their funds to be managed by a portfolio manager.

Investment companies offer individuals the opportunity to invest in a diversified portfolio of securities with a low initial investment requirement. UITs are sold by investment advisors and an owner can redeem the units to the fund or trust, rather than placing a trade in the secondary market.

Unlike mutual funds, UITs have a stated expiration date based on what investments are held in its portfolio; when the portfolio terminates, investors get their cut of the UIT's net assets.
