What challenges did the firm have in building your brand presence?

As a boutique firm located far outside the traditional US financial hubs, we found it challenging to consistently grab the attention of potential investors. In the past you could rely on conferences for capital introduction opportunities, but allocators are now relying more and more on databases to find their investment opportunities.

Over the years our firm has as developed a strong identity and brand that we are proud of, but with our small team we lacked the internal resources to effectively get our message and product information out to the dozens of databases asset owners use to search for and hire managers.

Nasdaq eVestment Omni helps us be prompt, consistent, and available to asset owners looking for a manager.

What attracted you to the Nasdaq eVestment™  database and what did you view as its key value proposition?

The biggest draw of Nasdaq eVestment was its position as one of the top databases used by asset owners and is partnerships with other large players like Cambridge Associates and Mercer. The consolidation of databases into Nasdaq eVestment has been a welcome change in the industry.

For our team the key value prop was the Nasdaq eVestment Omni team who quickly and accurately populate month-end and quarter-end information for our products on the Nasdaq eVestment database as well as all the other key databases across the industry. We found it to be a more cost-effective solution than a dedicated internal team member. Omni helps us be prompt, consistent, and available to asset owners looking for a manager.

What has been Nasdaq eVestment Omni’s impact on your business?

We see the rewards of this on a regular basis with inquiries that start with, “I saw you on Nasdaq eVestment could you tell me more?” A great example is an inquiry we got from a large pension plan and another from a large endowment who both said, “we learned about you from a database and would like to know more.” This is proof positive of the importance of databases to the sales process and the important role Nasdaq eVestment have in putting your best foot forward.
