Robert Scharar is President of FCA Corp, a Houston-based investment advisory firm founded in 1975. FCA Corp provides global investment, wealth management, tax and business advice through a team with backgrounds in law, accounting, finance, financial planning, taxation, real estate, and international investment.
FCA Corp is the advisor to a US mutual fund group called the Commonwealth International Series Trust. These funds include the Africa Fund, Australia-New Zealand Fund, Global Fund, Japan Fund, and Real Estate Securities Fund.
FCA Corp also serves as the advisor to Africap LLC, an Africa-focused private equity fund founded in 1999. The fund is invested in a portfolio of businesses in the insurance, banking, hospitality, real estate, energy, and health care sectors across Africa.
Mr. Scharar received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida, a Master of Business Administration, and Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University and a Master of Law in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. Since 1977, he has been a Director of the American Academy of Attorneys-Certified Public Accountants, Inc. and previously served a term as President. Mr. Scharar is a member of the Florida and Massachusetts Bars and is a Florida Certified Public Accountant.
