Johan Toll has over 20 years of experience in global capital markets and market infrastructure spanning strategy, business development, product management including spearheading the evolution of digital assets. Johan joined the company in December 2007 as responsible product manager for the connectivity strategy and offerings of Nasdaq OMX, later Nasdaq. The duties further evolved into product responsibility for the Trading and Post Trade offerings of Market Technology and eventually leading the product management group. In 2015, Johan became responsible for business development and strategy for blockchain and digital assets. He is a thought leader and driver behind some of the most notable blockchain initiatives presented by Nasdaq in recent years, including cooperation with SEB to provide a settlement platform for the Nordic mutual fund market and the development of a global blockchain-enabled service to issue, trade and settle tokenized assets. 

In October 2017, Johan received his first approved blockchain patent in the US (US 9,794,074 B2). In May 2018, Johan was named the "FinTech Person of the Year" by the Financial Technology Forum (FTF) News Technology Innovation Awards for his expertise, thought leadership and developments on blockchain integrations with multiple successful blockchain projects in the FinTech space. About a year later, in June 2019, he launched the Nasdaq Digital Assets Service, which focuses on serving incumbents and startups with a service offering covering the whole digital assets lifecycle to issue, trade and settle tokenized assets. 
 
Johan joined Nasdaq from Sungard (FRONT ARENA), where he led a global team responsible for the core platform of FRONT ARENA Order Management System. One notable achievement was the development of a service bus that was utilized across SunGard globally. 
 
Johan holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management at Linköping University, Sweden.
