BMO Capital raised the firm’s price target on Walmart (WMT) to $110 from $100 and keeps an Outperform rating on the shares as part of a broader research note previewing 2025 in Food Retail. The sector has reached a “digital tipping point” and while price transparency and competition from Amazon (AMZN) remains intense, Walmart should continue carving out its “respective niche”, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The stock’s peak valuation levels remain justified in this environment given clear signs a sustainable earnings growth algorithm is taking shape following years of investments into omni-channel infrastructure as well as consistent share gains and stable customer base, the firm added.
