Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE: WMT ) has announced that it will be adding "My Life" boy dolls to its stores starting next month.
The new My Life boy dolls are already available for preorder on the company's website . The new addition includes two different dolls. One of a young white boy and another of a young black boy. The dolls wear identical outfits, expects that the white one has a beanie and the black one wears a headband. Their hair styles are also different.
The new My Life boy dolls are exclusive to Walmart and stand 18 inches tall. Each one is priced at $27.97 and are rated for play with children ages five and up. The dolls are made of PVC and can be wiped clean. They are also compatible with other accessories for 18-inch dolls in the line and have hair that can be styled.
Customers that preorder one of the new My Life boy dolls will see them ship on Aug. 10, 2016. Shipping options for the boy dolls include free in-store pick up and to the customer's home. The dolls are also included as an item available for free shipping through the company's ShippingPass subscription service. The items are listed in the girls toy section.
Walmart said that it decided to expand the My Life line to include boy dolls after customers raised concerns about not being able to find any boy dolls at various different retailers. These customers said that their children were interested in having boy dolls, reports WTHR .
