(RTTNews) - Valneva SE (VALN), a specialty vaccine company, announced on Thursday the signing of a new $32.8 million contract with the U.S. Department of Defense or DoD for the supply of its Japanese encephalitis or JE vaccine, IXIARO.
The one-year contract ensures the purchase of a minimum of $32.8 million worth of IXIARO doses, with the possibility of additional purchases within the next 12 months. Deliveries for this contract are expected to start immediately.
IXIARO is the only JE vaccine approved by the U.S. FDA, and it has been the trusted vaccine for the U.S. military for over ten years, helping to protect military personnel, their families, and government contractors from the deadly disease.
