Thursday 10/8 Insider Buying Report: VRA, AEF
Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Tuesday, Vera Bradley's, Ivan Brockman, made a $50,200 buy of VRA, purchasing 10,000 shares at a cost of $5.02 a piece. So far Brockman is in the green, up about 5.2% on their buy based on today's trading high of $5.28. Vera Bradley is trading up about 5.2% on the day Thursday. Before this latest buy, Brockman made one other purchase in the past year, buying $10,000 shares for a cost of $4.00 each.
And at Abrdn Emerging Markets Ex-china Fund, there was insider buying on Monday, by Director Anthony S. Clark who bought 2,000 shares at a cost of $9.73 each, for a total investment of $19,452. Before this latest buy, Clark bought AEF at 2 other times during the past year, for a total investment of $54,133 at an average of $9.02 per share. Abrdn Emerging Markets Ex-china Fund is trading down about 0.8% on the day Thursday. Investors are able to snag AEF at a price even lower than Clark did, with the stock trading as low as $9.36 in trading on Thursday which is 3.8% under Clark's purchase price.
