National Health Investors (NHI) announced a series of changes to the board of directors which enhances the board’s ability to provide strategic and independent guidance. The changes include the following: Robert McCabe was appointed to serve as chair of the board, effective immediately, following the recent retirement of Andrew Adams on December 31, 2024. Candice Todd was appointed to the board to fill the vacancy of Adams’ retirement. Eric Mendelsohn, president, CEO and board member, was appointed to serve in the newly created role as vice-chair of the board effective immediately and Todd was appointed to serve as the chair of the audit committee and as a member of the nominating and corporate governance committee. Todd was also appointed as a member of the special committee described below. In addition to these recent actions and following discussion with several stockholders over multiple years, the company’s board has taken additional measures to increase accountability and transparency which include: appointment of Tracy Colden as chair of the nominating and corporate governance committee in May 2024.
