Lilly Study Shows Broader Biomarker Changes With Taltz-Zepbound Combination In Psoriasis

(RTTNews) - Eli Lilly and Company (LLY) presented new exploratory data from its Phase 3b TOGETHER-PsO trial, providing additional insight into the biological psoriasis and obesity and the potential impact of treating both conditions simultaneously.

Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated skin disease that causes inflamed, scaly patches on the skin. Many people with psoriasis also live with obesity or overweight, conditions that can worsen disease burden and treatment outcomes. In the U.S., approximately 61% of people with psoriasis have obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related comorbidity.

The TOGETHER-PsO Phase 3b trial evaluated the use of Taltz, Lilly's approved psoriasis treatment, together with Zepbound, the company's obesity therapy, compared with Taltz alone in adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis and obesity or overweight.

The newly presented analysis examined proteins and gene expression in blood samples to better understand the biological changes associated with treatment. According to Lilly, patients receiving Taltz and Zepbound experienced changes in a greater number of psoriasis-related and metabolic biomarkers compared with patients receiving Taltz alone. These broader biomarker responses were observed as early as Week 12.

The company said the findings build on previously reported clinical results from the study and suggest an interconnected relationship between immune and metabolic pathways in people living with both psoriasis and obesity.

Lilly noted that changes seen in psoriasis-specific, immune, and metabolic biomarkers were consistent with the known biological effects of both medicines. The broader responses observed with the combination may help researchers better understand the concept of "immunometabolic health" and its role in chronic inflammatory diseases.

The data were presented at the 2026 Fall Clinical Dermatology Conference in Las Vegas. The company said the results add to the growing evidence supporting a more comprehensive treatment approach for patients managing both psoriasis and obesity.

Taltz is approved for several inflammatory conditions, including plaque psoriasis, plaque psoriasis, and certain forms of axial spondyloarthritis. Zepbound is approved for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight and at least one weight-related condition, as well as moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity.

LLY has traded between $783.85 and $1,292.65 over the past year. The stock closed Thursday's trading at $1,169.60, down 1.61%. In pre-market trading the stock is at $1,169.00, down 0.08%.
