Johnson & Johnson Reports Sustained Two-Year ICOTYDE Results In Plaque Psoriasis

(RTTNews) - Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), a healthcare company focused on innovative medicines and medical technologies, reported two-year results from the Phase 3 ICONIC-LEAD study of ICOTYDE (icotrokinra) in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.

ICOTYDE is a targeted oral peptide designed to block the interleukin-23 (IL-23) receptor, a key driver of inflammation in plaque psoriasis.

Plaque psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated skin disease characterized by inflamed, scaly patches that can cause itching, pain and discomfort.

The results, presented at Fall Clinical Dermatology 2026, showed sustained skin clearance and improvements in patient-reported symptoms through Week 112, with no new safety signals identified.

At Week 112, at least 72% of ICOTYDE-treated patients achieved a 90% reduction in the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI 90), while at least 70% achieved clear or almost clear skin, based on Investigator's Global Assessment scores.

Complete skin clearance was also sustained, with at least 44% of patients achieving PASI 100 and at least 46% achieving an Investigator's Global Assessment score of zero. Clinically meaningful itch improvement was maintained in 78% of patients from Week 64 through Week 112.

Among patients who initially achieved PASI 90 but discontinued treatment at Week 24, 85% regained the response within 24 weeks of restarting ICOTYDE.

Johnson & Johnson said the safety findings through Week 112 remained consistent with the drug's established safety profile. ICOTYDE is approved in the U.S. for adults and eligible pediatric patients aged 12 years and older weighing at least 40 kg with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy.

The company is also evaluating ICOTYDE in clinical studies for psoriatic arthritis, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.

JNJ closed on Thursday at $256.48, down 0.76%.

In the premarket trading, shares are down 0.15% at $256.10.
