Jade Reports Wider Loss In Q2, Expects Autoimmune Pipeline Interim Data In FY27

(RTTNews) - Jade Biosciences, Inc. (JBIO), a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing therapies for autoimmune diseases, reported a wider net loss for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, primarily reflecting research and development expenses that more than doubled from the prior year and higher general and administrative expenses.

The company also provided updates on its clinical pipeline and corporate activities.

The company is focused on developing monoclonal antibody therapies for autoimmune diseases, with a pipeline of JADE101 for IgA nephropathy, JADE201 for autoimmune diseases, and JADE301 for Dermatomyositis.

Q2 Financial Results

Jade reported a net loss of $55.76 million, or $0.76 per share, wider than loss of $32.13 million, or $0.86 per share, in the prior-year quarter.

Research and development expenses climbed to $50.06 million from $22.55 million, driven by higher chemistry, manufacturing and controls costs, clinical activity, development milestone payments and personnel-related expenses.

General and administrative expenses increased to $8.85 million from $5.23 million, primarily due to higher personnel costs and stock-based compensation. As of June 30, 2026, Jade held $461.20 million in cash, cash equivalents and investments, which the company expects to support operating expenses and capital requirements into the fourth quarter of 2028.

Pipeline Updates

JADE101 - IgA Nephropathy:

Following positive interim Phase 1 data for JADE101, the company has initiated the Phase 2 JUNIPER trial, with interim data expected in 2027, and plans to initiate a registrational Phase 3 trial in the first half of 2027, subject to FDA feedback.

JADE201 - Rheumatoid Arthritis:

The company has begun dosing participants in the Phase 1 trial of JADE201, an anti-BAFF-R monoclonal antibody being evaluated in rheumatoid arthritis. Interim biomarker-rich data are expected in 2027 and are expected to help prioritize further autoimmune indications.

JADE301 - Dermatomyositis:

Jade unveiled JADE301, a half-life-extended anti-IFN-beta monoclonal antibody being developed for dermatomyositis. The company plans to present preclinical data at the 2026 European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Congress, while a Phase 1 healthy-volunteer trial is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with interim data anticipated in the second half of 2027.

Corporate Update

Jade completed a $172.5 million public offering, contributing to the company's expected cash runway through the fourth quarter of 2028.

JBIO is trading up 0.30% at $22.02.
