Introducing Nasdaq Data Link: The Next Evolution in Data
Part of Nasdaq’s mission is to provide access to tools and technology needed to foster greater participation in the markets. To support that mission, we’ve launched Nasdaq Data Link, a new technology platform that empowers all segments of the investing public with a comprehensive suite of core financial, fund and alternative data.
Quandl, acquired by Nasdaq in 2018, provided the infrastructure to evolve Nasdaq’s data service into a searchable database founded on cloud technology. Now clients and future customers can seamlessly search, access and leverage a comprehensive suite of 250+ datasets.
What is Nasdaq Data Link?
Nasdaq Data Link is a unified source of trusted data and analytics that enables users to efficiently discover and integrate market intelligence into their investment strategies. The platform connects the global financial community to the information needed to generate alpha, manage risk and gain transparency into public and private markets.
Customers will now be able to access data in a simple manner via cloud APIs, allowing users to manage, discover and implement new information with ease.
Nasdaq Data Link also provides end-to-end data management services, as well as infrastructure that enables users to privately share proprietary data, manage data access and monitor data quality over time within a single organization.
More than a data library
“What we’ve built is more than just a data library. Nasdaq Data Link is one of the world’s most diverse sources of market intelligence, as well as a powerful data infrastructure tool,” said Oliver Albers, Senior Vice President and Head of Data, Investment Intelligence.
“The launch of the platform signifies a milestone in Nasdaq’s cloud transformation – one where managing a portfolio of datasets in the cloud is now mainstream. Institutional investors, retail brokerages, fintech apps, media and academics will be able to seamlessly deploy data from our platform.”
An evolution in data usage and sharing
“Technology should break down barriers and empower all markets participants to make more informed decisions. Nasdaq Data Link helps do exactly that by bringing our wealth of data and analytics together into one seamless platform,” said Lauren Dillard, Executive Vice President and Head of Investment Intelligence, Nasdaq.
“Investors, developers and other markets professionals expect and deserve a frictionless data experience, whether they are managing a portfolio for themselves, their clients or an institution.”
Nasdaq’s ongoing commitment to transparency and opportunity
Nasdaq Data Link is part of Nasdaq’s continued commitment to building and maintaining a robust and transparent data marketplace, allowing for more people to access opportunities in the markets.
In addition to proprietary Nasdaq data, customers can access dozens of high-quality third-party datasets, including those from Marex, Sharadar and World’vest Base. Free data products and alternative datasets previously found on Quandl continue to be available for use.
