Here at Emerging Money we developed three sets of indexes in which we map out emerging markets activity for our readers three times a day: 10am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm EST.

A typical heat map allows traders to look at the market at a glance and find stocks moving up or down in comparison to each other.

Most heat maps provided on other websites look at the S&P 500, Dow 30 and Nasdaq, however, and as useful as those maps are to explain what is happening in the U.S. market, they do not accurately illustrate what is happening in the emerging markets.

Each colored rectangle in the map represents an individual company. The rectangle's size reflects the company's market cap and the color shows price performance. Green means the stock price is up. Red means price action is down. Gray to darker black colors is neutral.

The first index we are watching is the well-known Ambassador's Index , otherwise known as Tim Seymour's "Trading the Globe index" from CNBC. This basket was built to replicate the Dow industrials using stocks that are important in emerging economies.

The second index is a list of the most liquid stocks and ADRs traded in emerging markets. It was created by the team here at EmergingMoney.com

The third Index is a basket of emerging market ETFs ranging from the global EEM to those specializing in various key emerging countries, currencies and commodities.

Be sure to check back at 10am, 12:30pm and 2:30 to see what is hot and cold in the emerging markets.
