How Allie Mirosevic Is Nurturing Joy Through the Power of Journaling

Allie Mirosevic

Meet Allie Mirosevic, the Founder of Bliss’d Co, a company dedicated to enhancing the lives of mothers through gratitude and connection journals.

Allie Mirosevic

Bliss’d Co emerged from Allie’s personal experiences, which was rooted in the profound impact journaling had on her well-being. After the birth of her son in 2019, Allie faced postpartum depression. As a way to seek solace, Allie turned to journaling at the recommendation of her therapist. It didn’t take long for her to discover journaling’s ability to uplift her spirits. Allie’s journey is one that exemplifies the transformative power of embracing one’s struggles to ultimately create meaningful change. Through Bliss’d Co, she is able to offer mothers a sanctuary of selfcafe and an oasis where gratitude and connection can flourish.

We asked Allie about what makes Bliss’d Co different from other similar companies in the industry, if she always knew she wanted to be an entrepreneur, and what’s next for her and her company.

Q: Tell us the story behind your company’s founding. How and why did you start working on Bliss’d Co?

A: I’m often asked: why journaling? I discovered my love for journaling after the birth of my son in 2019 when I experienced postpartum depression. At the suggestion of my therapist, I started journaling as an additional tool to help me get through it (alongside medicine). Both helped immensely—and journaling stuck, long after the medicine finished!

However, I couldn't find an easy-to-use, inspirational five-minute guided journal that I could use at any time of day, so I decided to create one: our Time to Reflect 5-Minute Gratitude Journal. It's based on the exact format I've used for years to help me start and maintain an effective journaling practice to reduce stress and anxiety, improve my mindset and feel more grateful. I'm creating an entire line of easy-to-use and flexible journals, all designed with mom in mind, to fit into our full lifestyles!

Q: What makes Bliss’d Co different from other companies in the industry?

A: Journaling, in theory, is a really simple selfcare practice. But it can be really overwhelming— feeling like you have to fill a page just to fill it, or using a guided journal with a daily prompt you don’t feel like answering at that moment. I aim to take the overwhelm out of the journaling experience. My journals are easy to use, simple, quick, and flexible to fit into your lifestyle. The prompts throughout the journals are flexible enough to use morning, noon, or night, and the sections are broken down in a way that allows for free-flow writing or answering prompts—you can pick depending on how you’re feeling.

Q: Have you ever felt like you’re “different”? If yes, in what ways has this contributed to your journey as an entrepreneur?

A: Oh, this question hits home. Yes, for most of my life, but I’ve only recently realized it, as I always tried to “fit in” when I was younger. Now I’m embracing my differences and truly recognizing they are what makes me “me.” In building up my community of entrepreneurs, I’m realizing that many entrepreneurs feel different. The differences I identify with are having some highly sensitive and introverted traits. I think these traits have contributed to my entrepreneurship journey by helping me embrace a more authentic path over conventional norms.

Q: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

A: I have wanted to be an entrepreneur most of my adult life. I can’t explain why—it’s been more of a deep desire to build something that positively impacts people. I always thought it would be in travel though, since that’s what my professional background was in.

With that being said, this is actually my second go at my own company. My first was a service-based business doing professional organizing. I chose it because it was a skill that came naturally to me, but I learned it wasn’t for me. I’m glad I gave it a shot though, as I’m definitely a learn by doing type of person. Now it feels like I’ve found my purpose with Bliss’d, which is keeping me going through all the ups and downs!

Q: Have you felt like giving up? What made you persist?

A: Yes, I definitely struggle with self doubt. From conversations I’ve had with other founders, it sounds like it’s common, so that brings some relief. When I feel self doubt creeping up, I try to take a pause from whatever I’m doing and get some fresh air or take deep breaths. Sometimes I’ll journal out what I’m feeling or listen to a motivational podcast. I do the same when I’m having moments of feeling like giving up—those days are challenging but, again, something I think is common.

I try to remember the stories of some of the most inspiring people I look up to in the entrepreneurship world—many of them struggled with self doubt and they kept pushing through. I think that’s the key to business—perseverance to push through the self doubt and just keep going!

Ultimately, I still feel very connected to my business and products—and really believe in what I’m doing—so that keeps me going through the challenging times. If that feeling changes, I’ll reassess.

Q: What resources or people have contributed the most to your successes?

A: Without a doubt joining an aligned founder community like Dreamers & Doers. I am in three networking groups—two focused on female founders and one for moms—and the relationships I’m building in these communities have been so valuable, for business and for friendships!

Q: How do you celebrate successes along the way?

A: I really try to pause to celebrate all successes along the way. It’s easy to think: “Check, onto the next!” when it comes to achieving goals. I like to be more intentional with taking time to really enjoy the feelings that come along with accomplishing something.

Q: Have you discovered any underappreciated leadership traits or misconceptions around leadership?

A: I’ve come to appreciate the often underestimated power of empathy in leadership. I look up to leaders who possess this trait and I think it’s a misconception that leadership must only be authoritative. I believe that a more compassionate approach can inspire greater dedication and creativity.

Q: What would you tell your younger self if you were to start your entrepreneurial journey all over again?

A: I would tell her not to put so much emphasis on what other people might think; that the most important opinion to care about is your own. There are projects I said I wanted to start and I think the main reason I didn’t was a fear of what others might think. What if I had started? This is something I’m still working on today, as I put myself out there more on social media and continuously stretch myself in this world of entrepreneurship. I don’t want to have any “what-if” moments when I think back to this time. With that being said, I do trust in the way things are meant to play out and that life is one big learning game.

Q: What’s next for you and Bliss’d Co?

A: I’m excited to launch a new journal aimed at couples sometime this fall. I also have some exciting campaigns and partnerships in the works, including being a guest on my very first podcast. I’m excited and a little nervous!
