Glaukos' Epioxa Shows Durable Three-Year Results In Keratoconus

(RTTNews) - Glaukos Corp. (GKOS) on Wednesday reported three-year results from a Phase 3 extension study evaluating Epioxa, its epithelium-on corneal cross-linking therapy for keratoconus.

Keratoconus is a progressive, sight-threatening corneal disease that often remains undiagnosed and untreated.

The long-term extension study, GLK-202-03, followed 38 study eyes from 35 patients who completed the Phase 3 GLK-202-02 trial for up to three years after a single treatment. No additional intervention was administered during the extension period.

Following the study, data showed sustained improvement in corneal shape, with treated eyes maintaining a 1.9-diopter improvement in maximum corneal curvature (Kmax) from baseline at three years.

After treatment, 29% of eyes gained at least two lines of best-corrected visual acuity, while 20% gained at least three lines.

Glaukos said no serious adverse events, treatment-related adverse events or discontinuations due to adverse events were reported through three years.

On Wednesday, shares closed at $172.18, up 6.55%.

In the overnight market, GKOS was up 1.06% at $174.
