Facebook Inc ( FB ) is putting an end to its Notify app.
The Facebook Notify app is being shutdown and the company said it will be integrating features from it into its other apps. The service allowed users to select news sources to obtain notifications from and it launched in November.
The FB Notify app likely wasn't as popular as the company had hoped it would be. Estimates claim that the app was only downloaded 63,000 times. The app will no longer be available for download starting on Wednesday, reports TechCrunch.
Facebook often tests out different ideas by releasing them as standalone apps. It then takes parts of these apps that were successful and implements them into its core services. One of its main focuses has been its Messenger app.
