Cotton Facing Losses on Friday Morning

Cotton price action is creeping lower to kick off Friday trade. Futures settled the Thursday trade with contracts anywhere from 9 points higher to 8 points lower. The outside markets were mixed factors, with the US dollar index down 143 points and crude oil $0.46/barrel lower. 

The Seam reported 441 bales of online sales on December 24 at an average price of 58.80 cents/lb. ICE cotton stocks were unchanged on Tuesday, at 20,113 bales of certified stocks. The Cotlook A Index was up 130 points on 12/24 at 79.60 cents/lb. The USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) was cut by another 54 points this week to 54.55 cents/lb. It is good through next Thursday.

Mar 25 Cotton  closed at 68.75, down 3 points, currently down 32 points

May 25 Cotton  closed at 69.86, down 2 points, currently down 30 points

Jul 25 Cotton  closed at 70.88, up 3 points, currently down 32 points
