The Bank Of Nova Scotia Expands Share Buyback Program To 40 Mln

(RTTNews) - Friday, The Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) announced its decision to raise its normal course issuer bid to 40 million from 15 million after receiving approval from the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

The amended amount represents approximately 3.25 per cent of the approximately 1.23 billion common shares issued and outstanding as of March 24, 2026.

The expanded share buyback, effective from October 6, 2026, through April 6, 2027, will continue until the earlier of Scotiabank purchasing the maximum number of common shares under the program or opting to terminate it early.

BNS closed trading at $90.67, down 0.19 percent on the NYSE.
