U.S. wholesale inventories rise 0.1% in July

Investing.com - U.S. wholesale inventories rose less-than-expected in July, official data showed on Wednesday.

In a report, the U.S. Commerce Department said that wholesale inventories increased by a seasonally adjusted 0.1% in July, below expectations for a 0.5% increase. Wholesale inventories rose by 0.2% in June.

Following the release of the data, the U.S. dollar held on to losses against the euro, with EUR/USD shedding 0.12% to trade at 1.2923.

Meanwhile, U.S. stock markets were lower after the open. The Dow 30 slumped 0.15%, the S&P 500 dropped 0.2%, while the NASDAQ 100 lost 0.15%.
